During the Edinburgh Festival you will find all kinds of street performers on the High Street on the Royal Mile and at the Mound Precinct. Edinburgh International Festival started in 1947 and at this time eight uninvited theatre companies turned up and so the Fringe began.
The Fringe has grown over the years and has now become the biggest of Edinburgh’s festivals. It gives Edinburgh that carnival atmosphere in August, with thousands of people coming to see the spectacular acts that travel from all over the world to entertain the crowds.
This street performer sat very still and only moved when someone approached her. I was very pleased with this shot as I managed to capture the reflection of the High Street in her silver ball and a halo of light around her head.
