During the Edinburgh Festival you will find all kinds of street performers on the High Street on the Royal Mile and at the Mound Precinct. Edinburgh International Festival started in 1947 and at this time eight uninvited theatre companies turned up and so the Fringe began.
The Fringe has grown over the years and has now become the biggest of Edinburgh’s festivals. It gives Edinburgh that carnival atmosphere in August, with thousands of people coming to see the spectacular acts that travel from all over the world to entertain the crowds.
I came across this street performer getting dressed as his character of Charlie Chaplin and took a few shots. In this one he posed for me before going off to perform. I love his cheeky smile.
