Bass Rock

The Bass Rock is an island in the outer part of the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland.  It is 3.1 miles north-east of North Berwick, it is a steep-sided volcanic rock, 351 feet at its highest point, and is home to a large colony of gannets.

This long exposure shot focussed on the tide coming in round the rock in the foreground and the white trail it left behind as it receded back out.  I like that the Bass Rock sits proudly on the horizon.
